Jesse White reminds citizens to celebrate safely for the Chicago Bears Championship Game

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White urged drivers to cheer the Chicago Bears onto victory in a safe and responsible manner by not drinking and driving this Sunday for the National Football Conference (NFC) Championship game.

The Chicago Bears will play the Green Bay Packers at Soldier Field in the NFC Championship game on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2 p.m.

“I am proud of what the Chicago Bears have accomplished this season,” White said. “Whether it’s at the game or a gathering among friends, Illinois motorists need to remember not to drink and drive. Celebrating safely means to designate a sober driver, use public transportation or stay where you are.”

Known as one of the National Football League’s oldest and respected rivalries, the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will meet for the 182nd time on Sunday and only the second time for a conference championship. After almost 90 years of match-ups, the two teams will face each other to determine who will play in Super Bowl XLV.
