Concerned Black Men approves new chapter in Oakland, Ca
Washington, DC (BlackNews.com) — The Board of Delegates of Concerned Black Men – National Organization (CBM) is pleased to announce the inaugural meeting of a new CBM Chapter located in Oakland, CA. Consistent with the mission of the Organization, Concerned Black Men of Oakland will work to develop positive life outcome for children, youth and their parents.
The CBM Oakland membership will convene its first chapter meeting on June 14, 2011. George L. Garrow, Jr., and Eugene Phillips, CBM National Executive Director and Membership Chair, respectively, will be in attendance. “CBM is establishing a major presence in Oakland to help youth and their parents,” says Garrow, who also notes “our Oakland chapter will lead the way for other CBM chapters in northern California.”
CBM Oakland seeks new members who want to support youth in mentoring, tutoring and other endeavors. “We look forward to working with the local membership as part of our efforts to support youth and communities nationwide” offers Byron Browder, CBM National Chair.
